More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the duo.
Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his profound loss.
"Enough time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without laughter".
"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
In a distinct essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the LAPD.
A court order put a restriction on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
In the wake of the killings, public individuals offered varying comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing controversial statements that were widely condemned by numerous individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the critics recently. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan concluded by remarking that an associate could have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
