FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
