This young athlete boasts considerable social media following
The young golfer will have plenty of prominent supporters when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, received a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses multiple golf courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He practically told me to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the best player worldwide," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive person. He advised me to go out there, relax, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, featuring world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation brings golf to wider groups, particularly with youth audiences.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and has started a personal apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
